New Delhi, July 03: As the CPI(M) Polit Bureau is
meeting here to discuss party affairs in Kerala, state Chief
Minister V S Achuthanandan on Friday said party and people will
decide whether he should continue in the post.
He also said the CPI(M) will discuss the issue in the
party unit and find a solution to it.
"Let party and people decide whether I should continue,"
Achuthanandan told reporters here when asked whether he will
continue as the Chief Minister. He arrived in the capital
today to attend the Polit Bureau meeting.
He said like any other party, the CPI(M) will discuss the
issue in the party unit and resolve it. "This is the norm in
any party. If there is an issue, they will discuss and find
a solution," he said.
The CPI(M) Polit Bureau is meeting here tomorrow to
specifically discuss "disunity" in its Kerala unit and the
open turf war between its top leaders there.
The party would hold a two-day meeting from tomorrow only
to discuss the happenings in Kerala where Achuthanandan and
party state Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan are on a war path.
Earlier in the day, Achuthanandan met Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh and requested him to convene a meeting of Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and him to resolve the
Mullaperiyar dam issue.
