Mumbai, July 02: The judicial custody of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who was arrested for allegedly raping his domestic maid, has been extended till July 16. Latest news has it that Andheri Court extended the custody in order to let police probe him further regarding the crime. Earlier, the DNA test report of the actor confirmed that he had sexually assaulted the maid.

Medical reports of actor Shiney Ahuja had suggested that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of incident. The reports further stated that the actor had an abrasion on his right hand with no other injury on his body.

Shiney Ahuja has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 with rape, along with wrongful restraint and intimidation.

The police arrested Ahuja on June 15 after preliminary medical tests on the girl confirmed sexual assault.

Earlier, during interrogation in police custody, the actor allegedly broke down and confessed to the crime. “The maid resisted but I forced her into it. I told her that she should stay mum. I was confident that she would not tell anyone of the incident and I was ready to give her whatever she wanted to make sure that she would keep quite. I have made a grave mistake," Shiney had reportedly said.

However, Shiney’s wife Anupam and industry friends had shown unflinching faith in Shiney stating that he was being framed. “It is hard to believe the reports that come up with new version everyday. It’s a 100 percent frame up. I do not know the reason or who did it but I know that he is innocent." I have been with him for the past 15 years, he is a gentleman. He doesn’t smoke or drink or goes to parties. He is not capable of doing such a crime. He is my man. I am proud of being Mrs Shiney Ahuja,” Anupam had said.
