Mumbai, Oct 24: This fateful Friday will judge the destiny of the multi-starrer flick ‘Heroes’ that has an assemblage of leading stars like Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Sohail Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and the like. And competing with the film is YRF’s animation ‘Roadside Romeo’ that has voice-overs by the ‘It’ couple of Bollywood: Kareena and Saif. While ‘Heroes’ is a typical masala film with the right dose of Punjabi flavour, patriotism and romance, ‘Roadside Romeo’ appears experimental.

Written and directed by Sameer Karnik Aseem Arora and loosely based on the cult classic ‘The Motorcycles Diaries’, ‘Heroes’ is about a road trip of two guys - Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth with patriotism as the backdrop. The two boys undertake a journey and in the course of their travel their life becomes enriched with moments and experiences that completely change their outlook.

The film unfolds in three chapters. The first chapter involving Salman-Preity, is the highpoint of the film. The emotional moments in this chapter are charged with the spirit of nationalism. The second chapter presents the Deol brothers in an interesting role. Sunny and Bobby Deol have given a wonderful performance. The last chapter will see Mithun da, but this chapter is not as moving and effective as the first two.

Talking about the film Samir said, “ Heroes is a road trip movie which is a journey of certain characters. It takes them from place to place and formulates the story of the film. There is a hero inside everyone. It is only one moment or experience that makes us realize how we can make a difference or think about our country. Heroes is not a war film. It is not even a patriotic film. It is a fun and entertaining film.”

Other stars in the film include Dino Morea, Amrita Arora and Riya Sen. In terms of budget, where in producers Samir Karnik, Bharat Shah and Vikas Kapoor have invested around Rs.200 million in the film. It remains to be seen whether the film makes decent returns or bombs untraced at the BO.
