New Delhi, Oct 05: Reacting sharply to Samajwadi
Party's demand for a judicial inquiry into the Jamia Nagar
encounter, the BJP on Saturday said that it is nothing but betrayal of
the nation in its fight against terror.
"The remarks of SP stuns the nation. Demanding a judicial
probe into the Jamia terrorist encounter is nothing but an act
of betrayal of the nation fighting terror," Rajiv Pratap Rudy, party spokesperson said in a statement.
"By challenging the valiant act of Delhi Police, who
sacrificed a brave officer, the supporters of UPA government
are putting holes in police action," he said.
"The rabid attempt of the SP to match the Congress party
in its politics of vote bank is a dangerous trend which the
nation has been witnessing for long," Rudy said.
He said that suspecting the terror investigating agencies is
simply an act of demoralisation to the police forces. "It
seems while the terrorists have taken over the system, demands
for a probe is a deliberate attempt to embolden those whose
sole purpose is strike terror and get away under the garb of
victimisation," Rudy said.
"The protagonists of Jamia Nagar and Azamgarh have now
stirred a debate where a categorical reply is warranted from
the Prime Minister whose survival is hinged on their support,"
the BJP spokesperson said.
