London, Aug 04: Peeved with being dubbed as a ‘housebreaker’, French first lady and super model-singer Carla Bruni has sternly rubbished the allegations that she was instrumental in the breakup between English rock musician Sir Mick Jagger and his super model wife Jerry Hall. As per Bruni, Jagger was only a friend until he divorced his wife.
Incidentally, before marrying the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Bruni had romantic flings with rock pals Eric Clapton and Sir Mick Jagger. Although, she is okay with the notion that she knew Jagger, but she clearly discards any attempts to suggest that she committed adultery with Jagger before he split with Hall in 1999.
In an interview Bruni said, "Mick Jagger is actually a very good friend of mine. He was married and we never had a romance in the way it was hyped on the papers. We had a friendship at first and then he got a divorce. Not because of me. I didn't break up his marriage."
All we can say…When the French first lady swears it ought to be the truth!
