New Delhi, April 08: Shiv Sena on Tuesday demanded in Vidhan Sabha that legislation should be made to make it mandatory for all outsiders to carry an identity proof with them in Mumbai.
They also called for proof of identity to be produced for verification while entering Maharashtra.
Shiv Sena which has been targeting North Indians, including celebrities like Manoj Bajpayee and Amitabh Bachchan, has now reverted to this demand of making ID proofs mandatory for the outsiders for better profiling.
It must be remembered that only a few months ago a similar decision was taken by the Delhi Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna for making it obligatory for citizens to carry
an identity proof with them for security reasons in the capital.
However it could not materialize due to widespread protests from political parties and citizens’ forums.
