Mumbai, March 29: After being accused by starlet Tanushree Dutta for indecent behaviour at the sets of ‘Horn Ok Please’, Nana Patekar addressed a press conference here in Mumbai to refute the charges against him.
While addressing the press, Patekar said that he was highly surprised at the unexpected charges. He also said, “Tanushree is my daughter’s age and I have no clues about what made her say such things about me. I have been a part of this film industry since the last 35 years and haven’t had anyone saying such things about me ever.”
He further added, “I was not interested in holding this press conference but was asked to do so by my producer and director as they wanted me to clarify things in the first place to avoid further confusions and to uphold my integrity.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Tanushree Dutta had created quite a scene at the Filmistan studio. The actress had been called upon to rehearse for the dance steps of the song with choreographer Ganesh Acharya. But apparently there was some misunderstanding and Tanushree was not aware that it was a rehearsal and not the final shoot.
When the actress came to know of the rehearsal, she lost her cool. The matter soon heated up and the producer had to be called in for damage control. Talking to Zee News producer, Sami Siddiqui had said, "She behaved in a completely unacceptable manner. She was informed before hand that the song is an item number, but once we began shooting she stated to object to certain dance moves that involved the dancers and the lead actor Nana Patekar to touch her, which she was not comfortable with."
The actress then locked herself in her makeup van for the next five hours wasting valuable time. Once she emerged out of her vanity van, she lashed out at the producer and headed to her car.
The actress, who was accompanied by her father, then caused another controversy. While getting inside her car, her secretary broke a cameraman’s lens.
The incident angered the reporters, who had been waiting for a byte of Tanushree. After an entire episode of reporters blocking her car for over an hour, police was called in and both the reporter and Tanushree were hurried to the near by Police Station.
But guess Tanushree was not aware of the cut-to-cut competition going on in the item song lane. With her throwing such tantrums around, the producer soon replaced her with none other than the Queen of Item Numbers - Rakhi Sawant. Well, Tanushree who has been absent from the silver-screen for quiet some time now has surely lost another appearance from the limited once that she gets.
