Fatwa against Salman Khan for attending Ganesh puja

New Delhi, Sept 20: Fresh out of Jail in the Chinkara poaching case, the perpetual ‘bad guy’ of Bollywood Salman Khan is in trouble again.

The Bareilly based Daarul-Ifta-Manjar-e-Islam has issued a Fatwa against him for having attended Ganesh puja at the famous Lalbagh ka Raja Ganpati Mandal in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Citing Islamic principles the clerics claimed that Islam prohibits all kinds of idol worship and by taking part in Ganesh puja festivities, Salman has ceased to be a Muslim.

In its Fatwa, the organisation has mandated that Salman read the Kalmas all over again to be considered as a Muslim.

While attending the puja on Wednesday, Salman had said, "We believe in this. The energy here is spectacular. When we were kids, we used to come here and I have come here after a long time. Whatever I wanted, I have got."

WOW!!!i was trying to get a picture of lal bagh GANESH and came to know about this story of salman khan.i am a born hindu who believes in GOD who is ONE,and i go the places where god lives(church/temple,gurudwara/dargah/even the biggest mosque in ISREL because HE lives there,and i senddonations,too. I have always believed in Peace and harmony and am fascinated with the way Salman demonstrates his respect for Hinduism, which is great. The time we muslims live in is critical. We need to show respect and solidarity. The only fact I dont agree with is the actual pooja itself, is salman a muslim? As a muslim surely dargahs should mean something? how many hindus do namaz? Salman should show other muslims that his proud to be a muslim or he may end up losing fans throughout the world. -Said - London

This story is the craziest thing ever. I am a muslim. No one can tell me that I am not muslim. For me, only Allah can tell me that. I believe this goes for Salman bhaiyya, too. For all the charitable deeds and good things he has done for people, he should be praised and not disowned. -Patricia -

Is Hinduism that low of a religion, that if a Muslim goes and attends a Hindu ceremony - he needs to be kicked out of the Islamic religion? Are you people serious?!?!
