Updated on Friday, August 31, 2007, 00:00 IST
New Delhi, Aug 31: The Supreme Court today issued notice to the Chhattisgarh government on a petition seeking release of prominent civil liberties activist Binayak Sen from alleged illegal detention.

A bench of Justices Ashok Bhan and V S Sirpurkar sought response from the Chhattisgarh government after senior counsel Soli Sorabjee claimed that Sen was illegally detained since May 7 on fabricated charges of supporting Naxalites.
