Washington, June 07: Angelina Jolie wants to be remembered for her humanitarian work after she dies, and not her acting skills.
Jolie, who has hits like 'Lara Croft', 'Gia', and 'Mr and Mrs Smith' under her belt, and who picked up an Oscar for her role in 'Girl, Interrupted', insists to Esquire magazine that though she loves acting, she would rather be remembered for her charity work.
"I have no animosity toward Hollywood or the demands of the red carpet, all that silliness. That's my job, and I'm happy to have it. But when I die, do I want to be remembered as an actress? No," Hollywoodrag.com quoted her, as telling the mag.
The star also revealed that she had been thrilled when a recent column in a newspaper referred to her not as an actress, but as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
"I recently had a column published in a newsppaper and at the end it didn't say I was an actress. It said that I was a UN Goodwill Ambassador - that's all. And I was really proud," she said.
Jolie also admits that before she started her humanitarian work, she would feel "empty" while giving interviews, for she had nothing significant to share with the world.
Now however, it's a whole different ball game for the mum of four.
"I entered this business before I had focus and purpose in my life. I was very unhappy, very unhealthy, and when I sat down for an interview, I didn't know why. I felt like I didn't have anything to share. It was a very empty time," she said.
The star is currently in Prague where she is filming her new movie 'Wanted' in which she plays an assassin.
