Tinsukia, Jan 06: In the second attack in as many days on non-Assamese, the banned ULFA on Saturday shot dead 12 Bihari and Bengali brick-kiln workers and milkmen and injured five others in Tinsukia district's Sadiya area in Assam, police said.

Seventeen non-Assamese were gunned down yesterday by the insurgent outfit in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts.

The militants attacked remote village Ghuramora, under Sadiya police station, in the wee hours today and gunned down the Bihari and Bengali mixed population of brick kiln workers and milkmen, police said.

Security personnel have been despatched to the area which was not accessible by motor and was across a river, District Superintendent of Police P K Bhuyan told a news agency.

The policemen would require to traverse 20 km on foot and cross the river before reaching there, Bhuyan said.
