London, Dec 18: Hollywood superstar Mel Gibson may soon find himself at the doctor’s office giving a sample of his DNA, for a 29-year old woman is claiming that she is his lovechild.

Painter Carmel Sloane is claiming that Gibson got her mother pregnant after a romp on a mattress at the back of his car before he became one of the most recognisable faces in showbiz.

As for why Sloane wants Gibson to take a paternity test, well she just wants to get to know her father, and her son his grandfather.

"I'm not doing it for his money. I just want to meet the man I've always known was my dad — and for him to get to know his grandson," the News of the World quoted her, as saying.

Legal papers will be served on the 50-year old Gibson, this week.

The 29-year old painter also insisted that she was not looking for a portion of the Gibson’s fortune, and that all she wanted was for him to recognise her “as family”.

"I'd love it if he recognised us as family. I'm not looking for a meal ticket. I am happy with my life. I would love to meet him but I wouldn't expect to be part of his life. I'm not looking for a piece of the pie or that lifestyle. I would like him to know he has a grandson who is a great kid. He is very bright and creative. He would be proud of him," she said.

"We have no choice but to go legal so that we can get to the bottom of this once and for all. A simple DNA test will sort it out," Sloane added.
