Karunanidhi felicitated by Tamil film industry

Chennai, Sept 24: Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was felicitated by the Tamil Film industry with a silver throne and a pen-shaped sceptre here.
The function at the Nehru Indoor Stadium last night was
preceded by a glittering show which saw artistes from four
generations taking part in song, dance and play sequences.
Depicting a spirit of camaraderie, the entire film
fraternity, including actors, producers, directors and
exhibitors took part in the show, organised by the Tamil Nadu
Film Producers' Association and the Directors' Association.
At the function titled 'gala festival for shining sun of
the world of arts,' Karunanidhi, a veteran in story, script,
dialogue and song writing, was lauded for his contributions to
the Tamil film world.
Vijaykant, MLA, a new entrant to politics from Kollywood
was also present during the function along with actors
Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, satyaraj, Vikram, Vijay, Meena,
Asin, Trisha, Sneha, Nila, Kanimozhi, Kushboo and yesteryear
actress Padmini.
Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna released a souvenir on
the occasion.
Film shootings have been cancelled for two days
throughout Tamil Nadu as a run-up to the event.
