Hyderabad, Aug 17: A Hyderabadi, Mandla Naga Prasad, set a new world record for 108-hour marathon typing on computer. The earlier world record belonged to M Sandeep, again from Hyderabad, who had achieved the feat in 50 hours.

Naga Prasad started typing on august 10 and finished on Independence Day clocking 108 hours. An engineering graduate presently pursuing MBA, Naga Prasad has various other records to his credit, which he does to get an identity as he has no family to back him.

Mandla Naga Prasad began marathon typing from August 10 to create a new record in computer typing. He created a new world record by clocking 108 hours in typing. Naga Prasad typed his own book ''The tale of two great nations.'' 29-year-old Prasad, an engineer pursuing his MBA had twin objectives behind this feat- sending a message for restoration of peace between India and Pakistan and finding sponsors to pursue his passion for rifle shooting.

Mandla Naga Prasad said, ''The records give me an identity to achieve something on your own, and tell to the world that alone one can achieve many things.”

Prasad was all alone after his mother’s death. He was financially broke. He took up various jobs to support himself in studies and his other passions. Prasad has other records too in his kitty. In 2001 he created a national record in making and flying 505 paper rockets in 60 minutes, and in 2003 he passed 29 engineering theory subjects in 21 days- another national record. Prasad's philosophy in life is ''never give up.''
