New Delhi, Aug 05: The main Opposition BJP on Saturday said it would seek explanation from the government in Parliament over the current position of the peace process with Pakistan in the wake of the expulsion of an Indian diplomat from Islamabad.

"The diplomatic expulsions somehow reflect the fragility of the peace process with Pakistan, which has in the past also resorted to such moves as a cover-up for its support to terrorism," BJP parliamentary party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told mediapersons.

The BJP leader, whose party has sought "hot pursuit" of terrorists across the border in Pakistan following the Mumbai train bombings, said the government would be asked to explain in Parliament the current position of the peace process with Islamabad.

His comments came in the wake of India asking Pakistan to withdraw its high commission official Syed Muhammad Rafiq Ahmed shortly after Islamabad ordered expulsion of Indian diplomat Deepak Kaul.
