Why even after buying Dawood Ibrahim's properties you may not get possession

Mumbai: In 2001, a Delhi-based lawyer Ajay Shrivastava had in auction won an industrial unit in Tardeo owned by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim but has not yet got its possession.

Even after 14 years, Ajay Shrivastava is awaiting possession as the Dawood 's sister Haseena Parkar had challenged it in court.

The next hearing of this matter is scheduled on December 18.

Hence, the big question crops up here is - Even after buying the Dawood's properties legally, will the buyers get possession?

Once again, the auction of Dawood's properties took place in Hotel Diplomat in South Mumbai on Wednesday. According to sources, a very few people turned up to offer bid at the auction.

President of Hindu Mahasabha Swami Chakrapani bought the Dawood Ibrahim's car. Swami Chakrapani had said that he will bid for the car to buy it so that he can set it on fire.

The government agency has appointed a private firm to hold the auction under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Properties) Act, 1976.
