Puri: Internationally renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik has created a sand-art piece on water conservation to urge people not to waste water at the Puri beach of Odisha.

Using the slogan ''don't waste water'', the acclaimed sand artist has attempted to send a message that ''every drop of water is precious, there could be no life without water''.

Patnaik took to Twitter to inform his hundreds of his followers about his new sand art creation.

This is not the first time that the acclaimed sand artist has used his art to create awareness about a social cause.

In past too, Patnaik had used his artistic brilliance to create awareness about  natural calamities like earthquake, floods, drought etc.

With the slogan, "help the earthquake victims", he had earlier raised awareness about the Nepal earthquake.

The world renowned artist used about five tons of sand to create the sculpture with intricate details and hoped that his sculpture would encourage people from all over the world to step forward and help victims of the earthquake in Nepal and India.

Odisha-based Pattnaik had also honoured the Syrian refugee toddler Aylan Kurdi, who was found dead on a beach in Turkey.
