Delhi/Lahore: An Earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was felt along India-Pakistan border on Sunday. 

Tremors were felt in Lahore, Sheikhupura and other areas. Tremors were also felt in Punjab and other areas of North India.

Earlier, an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale had hit Surat district in south Gujarat this morning, though no casualty or damage was reported, an official said.

The earthquake, which occurred at 9:24 am today, had its epicentre at Bhada village under Kamrej taluka of Surat district, nearly 24 kms north-west of Surat, he said.

"An aftershock of 2.8 magnitude was also felt at 11:23 AM with its epicentre at some 25 kms south-south east of Bhavnagar city in Saurashtra," A Satish, senior geologist, Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar, had said, as per PTI.

Tremors were felt in parts of Surat district and in Bhavnagar, Amreli, Palitana, Savarkundla, Adajan, among other places, officials had said.

"The tremors were felt across single fault line stretching from Surat to Bhavnagar," Satish had said.Surat to Bhavnagar," Satish had said.
