Zeenews Bureau
Ahmedabad, Dec 01: Close on the heels of Mumbai terror attacks, the Intelligence Bureau on Monday issued an alert warning of a possible terror attack on Ahmedabad.
According to intelligence sources, the attack can take place any time and could be conducted by the same module which carried out attacks in Mumbai. The alert has been issued on the basis of inputs acquired during the investigation of the lone captured terrorist of the Mumbai attack, AA Kasab.
The government and the security agencies are refraining from disclosing details on the matter.
Earlier yesterday, a terror mail sent by Deccan Mujahideen to a local Gujarati TV channel sent a chilling reminder to the security agencies about the destructive motives of the terrorists.
The terror e-mail, sent by Deccan Mujahideen, the same group that claimed responsibility for the Mumbai terror attack, has been traced to an IP address in Saudi Arabia.
The mail threatens of further attacks on Delhi’s international airport, Bombay Stock Exchange, schools and colleges.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across Gujarat and combing operation is being conducted by the state police.
Security has been tightened in the shopping malls, multiplexes and other public places also. The police is keeping a strong vigilance on the people staying in rented houses as well.
The content in the mail also specifies that the group ‘Deccan Mujahideen’ has no connection with Pakistan and are completely Hyderabad based.
