Bangalore, May 26: The Janata Dal (Secular) has
convened its legislature party meeting here on Tuesday.
The meeting was expected to analyse the causes that led
to the rout of the party in the just-concluded Assembly
elections in which it managed to win 28 seats and also
deliberate on the future plans.
The meeting, to be chaired by the state unit president
Merajuddin Patel, will be attended by party chief H D Deve
Gowda, former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, MPs and Rajya
Sabha members, a JDS release said here today.
Patel, who was defeated in Humnabad constituency in Bidar
district yesterday, resigned from the party post owning moral
responsibility for the poll debacle.
The resignation was yet to be accepted. Bureau Report
