The second phase of India's national elections concluded this Friday, with approximately 63.50% of voters casting their ballots across 88 parliamentary constituencies spanning 13 states and Union Territories (UTs), as reported by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The first round of voting, held on April 19, covered 102 seats in 21 states and Union territories. Attention now shifts to the upcoming phase scheduled for May 7.

In a big jolt to the Congress, Delhi Chief President Amrinder Singh Lovely stepped down from his position and cited the party's coalition with AAP as the reason.

Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress and INDIA bloc today in Karnataka on Monday, while Union Minister Amit Shah held public meetings in Uttar Pradesh.

After the wealth distribution in the second phase, the third phase of the polls is witnessing a political slugfest on the issue of reservation. While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that Mohan Bhagwat always opposed the idea of reservation RSS chief denied the claims and said that "Sangh always supported reservations".

Meanwhile, Union Minister Smriti Irani who is vying for the second term from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh drove a scooter in her parliamentary constituency to campaign for the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections which is scheduled to be held on May 7.
