Review: ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ an enjoyable romantic tale!
Spicezee Bureau

Shah Rukh Khan’s role in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is thought to be one of his most challenging but well-fitted roles. And, looks like he is doing absolute justice to this one too. After a saga of hit, super-hits, blockbusters in his career chart, the King Khan is back in action with yet another romantic comedy that behests his fans to dash into the theatres.

Shah Rukh ‘romantic’ Khan delivers an utmost fun-filled entertainment motion picture with a universal story line comprising of love, drama, emotions and a predictable happy ending. The movie undoubtedly is an entertainer except for the fact that it’s a lengthy movie, stretching to 2hours and 45mins.

‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is the story of an ordinary couple played by Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma who find true love in the backdrop of a dance competition called ‘Dancing Jodi’.

The story goes like this…

Shah Rukh aka Surinder Sahni , a man working for Punjab Power in Amritsar, falls in love with Taani who is also his school master’s daughter.

Debutante Anushka Sarma plays the role of Taani a flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious girl who aspires to be a dancer but finds out that her father wants her to get married to a man, Surinder Sahni who is much older than her.

However, finally they get married and lead a not-so happy life due to the huge age gap. In the meanwhile Taani gets to know of a dance reality show, ‘Dancing Jodi’ and wishes to chip in . This is the main backdrop of the movie. The show is a couple dance reality show and Taani is unwilling to participate because her husband unlike the other contestants of the show lacks in good looks and style.

Later on when Surinder finds out about his wife's wish to participate in the reality dance show and he undergoes a major change, he even changes his identity to Raj Kapoor. Taani who is much eager to participate in the show counts on Raj who offers to be her partner in the show.

Awed by Raj’s looks and style Taani falls in love with him, unaware of the fact that Raj was actually her husband Surinder.

Later on in the story Taani realises the truth and confesses her guilt to her ever-so-loving husband.

The story line is good. But, the director has failed to communicate well with his audiences.

Out of the many other characters in the flick, Vinay Pathak is worth mentioning for his timely comedy and excellent performance. The music is good and pleasing to the ears. Cinematography is commendable too.

It’s three cheers for the SRK starrer ‘ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.

``Shah Rukh ‘romantic’ Khan delivers an utmost fun-filled entertainment motion picture with a universal story line comprising of love, drama, emotions and a predictable happy ending.`` this line shows that there is nothing new in this movie .....like always shahrukh type masala movie.
