Bangalore, Nov 28: Expressing grave concern over the brazen terror attacks in Mumbai, Infosys Technologies Co-Chairman Nandan Nilekani termed it as the "very great tragedy".
"It is a very great tragedy and is kind of state of war, but it also shows our institutions have become dysfunctional, be it policing, intelligence; it is very unfortunate", he said during his interaction with the media after releasing his book "Imagining India: Ideas for the New Century", here on Friday.
"It is very disturbing to see that a solution to problem (terrorists' strike) is not that simple," he said, adding, "the implementing machinery, be it policing, governance and a host of other things have to be put in place.
On the impact of the human tragedy on Mumbai, he said, “it is obviously short-term. There is a blow in terms of travellers, travel advisories being given.. but the fundamental long term advantages of India is not gone. It is a part of challenge we have to deal with, we will bounce back".
Reflecting on his book, the Infosys Co-Founder said the driving force behind penning it was India, which not only boasts of sophisticated corporate companies but also the largest slums in the world.
