Mumbai, March 07: With ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ making waves at both national and international circuits, its much feted star cast are adding variety to the kind of hype associated with the film. Freida Pinto is adding the spicy zing of controversies to the Slumdog hoopla, whose link up with Rohan Antao has become a staple diet of media. Clearing airs about the gossips while talking to a news daily, Pinto comes out clean with her relationship with Antao – “It is the truth that we were engaged.”
Charming Pinto was quick to add, “But there was no secret marriage... which makes me laugh. (When the report came out) My mum and dad said, ‘How come we were not invited to the wedding?’”
However, in order to mint his relationship with Pinto, Antao went ahead and gave an interview to UK’s newspaper stating, “I haven’t got any money for the story. I did it as I wanted to clear the air that there was no marriage, just engagement. Well, it honestly didn’t help.”
Poor Antao is angry with Frieda for betraying him after her newfound success. Antao hinted that it was an ‘indirect threat’ that made him choose foreign shores to tell his poignant tale instead of India.
A dash of spice makes the news more palatable – no wonder at all the Pinto-craze!
