Cyclone Ockhi effect: Bhopal receives winter rain

BHOPAL: The effects of Cyclone Ockhi has lingered on in the Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal as the city received heavy to moderate rainfall.

The Met department has forecast more rain after the city received winter showers on Thursday.

The cyclone has weakened over time after it wreaked havoc on the southern seaboard in early this month. Over three dozen people were killed and scores of others were injured in various incidents caused by the cyclone.

The moisture content in the air has brought the day temperatures further down in Bhopal, while nights have become relatively warmer.

On Thursday, the day temperature was recorded at 22.1 degrees, four degrees less than the normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.4 degrees, four degrees more than the normal, the Times of India reported.

The visibility in the city has also reportedly gone down to 1500 meters in the morning. Other cities that saw rainfall in the day include Gwalior and Morena, the report added.
