Green Wood to meet Bangladesh school in Subroto Cup final

New Delhi, Sept 23: Green Wood Higher Secondary School, Nagaland will meet BKSP school from Dhaka, Bangladesh in the final of the sub-junior (Under-14) category of the Subroto Cup football tournament.In Tuesday`s semi-finals at the Ambedkar Stadium, Green Wood came back from a goal down to beat Army Boys Company, Lucknow 2-1. Pranay Rai had given the Army Boys the lead but a brace from Tingmjek settled the issue in favour of the Nagaland side. The school from Bangladesh defeated St Ignatius Higher Secondary School, Gumla (Jharkhand) 2-0 in the other semi-final, Salman Shah and Mohd Ratul Islam scoring one each. The final will be held on Wednesday. The final of the junior (Under-17) category will be fought between Government Central Higher Secondary School, Mizoram and Army Boys, Bangalore. Goals from Joseph Lalmunpuia put the Mizoram team ahead before Abhishek Debnath equalised for SAI, Kolkata. K Lalawmpuia scored the winner in second half injury time to see his school through. Elvis Klogen scored the winner as Army Boys, Bangalore edged out Town High School, Sundergarh 1-0 in today`s semi-finals. Bureau Report
