Washington, April 21: American Idol castoff Sanjaya Malakar found has two new admirers in American entertainer Donny Osmond and Hollywood comedian Jack Black.
Making his first post -Idol appearance, on Thursday night's Tonight Show, Sanjaya impressed the two celebrities, reports People.
Host Jay Leno introduced Osmond to musically highlight Sanjaya's reactions to Leno's questions, which were a parody of the popular commercials by car insurance company Geico.
When asked what was it about him that created such a huge fan base, Sanjaya replied, "I don't know. Maybe because I'm young. I take risks," while Osmond began the song "Hair."
When asked why young Ashley Ferl in the Idol audience burst into tears at the very sight of him, Sanjaya responded, "I'm happy that [young fans] liked my singing," and at the same time Osmond burst into "Puppy Love."
The parody continued when Leno asked about Idol host Ryan Seacrest. "I told him I really appreciate his support," said the Seattle-area native, while Osmond sang "Go Away, Little Girl.”
Meanwhile, funny man Black later told the 17-year-old, "You had a great ride, Sanjaya. I was rooting for you. I didn't vote. But if I had voted, I absolutely would have voted for you."
