Rohani likely to remain Speaker
The ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh
is likely to zero on former speaker Ishwardas Rohani again for
the post of speaker of the 13th state assembly.
"I will abide by the party`s decision in this regard,"
Rohani said today when asked whether he would become the
Speaker of the new assembly.
"I am always willing to follow the party orders as I
believe in only two high commands, first is God and the
second is party leadership," Rohani said.
The former Speaker who got elected from his
traditional Jabalpur seat said that he was satisfied with
whatever God has given him in life and would be happy to
accept anything offered to him in future also.
He said that the party has lifted him from an ordinary
worker and made him MLA, Deputy Speaker and also speaker of
the state assembly and would go by the party`s order in
future also.
BJP sources said that all efforts made by the party to
woo senior party leader and former Union Minister Sartaj Singh
for the post proved futile.
Yesterday his supporters created a ruckus when his
name was not figured in the list of persons included in the
state cabinet and for the same BJP has not only issue
show-cause notice to Singh but also suspended his seven
supporters.
