Excellence tag did not help MP legislators
Bhopal, Dec 19: The tag of excellence bestowed on some members of the erstwhile Madhya Pradesh assembly did not give them any added advantage during the recent polls in the state. Five members of the outgoing Madhya Pradesh Assembly namely Satyadev Katare and Brijendra Rathore, Congress, Saroj Bachchan Nayak, Janata Dal (U) and Lal Singh Arya and Durga Lal Vijay, BJP, were honoured as excellent legislators this year.

But barring Rathore, no one could not succeed in retaining their seats. As for Rathore, who won from the Prithvipur constituency in Tikamgarh district, he is absconding following the murder of BJP nominee Sunil Nayak on November 27, the day of the polls.

However, of the five ministers who were deemed to be excellent, only one lost.

While, Himmat Kothari lost, three others-- Dr Narottam Mishra, Anup Mishra and Raghavji registered victories while BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar did not contest.
