Dikshit gives credit for victory to first time voters, youth
New Delhi, Dec 26: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday gave credit for her third consecutive win in the Assembly polls to first time voters and youth of the capital who came out in huge numbers to exercise their franchise. "The credit for the historic triumph of Congress party in the capital goes to the first time voters and youth, who came out in large numbers to cast their vote. This also includes RWAs and residents of urban colonies," Dikshit said at a function held here to felicitate her.

Acknowledging the power of the ballot, she said a single vote can change the fortunes of a political party or a candidate and added that the "historic mandate" won by the Congress exemplified it.

"We must cast our votes to bring the change. Every vote has its importance. The Election Commission`s campaign also delivered fruitful results," Dikshit said.

She said she was apprehensive about the party`s chances after the Mumbai terror strikes.

"... but then I decided to fight it down and I went on to do a spree of rallies to generate faith among Delhi citizens. Results are in front of you -- we won it," the Delhi Chief Minister said.

Drawing the roadmap for her future assignments, Chief Minister said we are dreaming of making Delhi, a world class city in true terms and with support of Delhiites, government will definitely achieve its targets.
